Gordon is Wesley's best friend, and consequently he is also Nick's friend. He met Wesley when he was very young,
back when Wesley's family was still wealthy and respectable. Gordon is quiet, like Wesley, but seems far less
volatile than him. It would take quite a lot to insult him, and even more to get him angry. While Wesley is the
de facto leader of their little group, Gordon actually has the better leadership skills of the two. When his friend
breaks down - because let's face it, Wesley is not the most stable person - Gordon quickly and silently steps in.
Not that he actually cares for the position. Positions of power do not appeal to Gordon. This is most likely due to his background. While you wouldn't really know it at first glance, Gordon comes from a wealthy and powerful family. His father, Henry Ralston is on the executive board of Silph Co., owns a large portion of the company and ultimate aims to take the whole thing over some day. Gordon's father hopes his son will one day take over his work, but to his frustration Gordon is anything but interested in the position. He'd much rather just spend his time relaxing under the shade of a nice tree. (He really admires nature.) Their relationship is anything but warm at the moment, for which they are probably both to blame. Gordon is no longer interested in anything his father has to say to him, while his father has … interesting ideas of what make good parental skills. Henry Ralston's most recent tactic is to let his son do whatever he wants - such as travelling through Mount Silver Pass when his Pokémon clearly aren't strong enough to protect him - so that he'll find out such things can get him into trouble, and that daddy is always right. Gordon's main reason to travel with Wesley and Nick is because he wants to keep an eye on them. Besides, he'd be very bored without them. His parents don't approve of his friendship with Wesley and Nick (Wesley in particular), because of their relation to Wes' father. To Gordon this is just one more reason to maintain this friendship. As a trainer Gordon is mid-level at best. He is not as good as Wesley, but he is better than Nick. Trivia: Gordon likes wearing clothes that do not fit his "status" as a rich kid (i.e. tattered pants, etc.). | |

Ornlu is Gordon's first Pokémon. When his neighbours' Mightyena gave birth to a litter of puppies, Gordon was allowed
to pick one of the little Poochyenas (of course it took some time convincing his parents, but still). Ornlu is quite
large for a Mightyena, and his coat is rather light (silver). This in combination with his flawed facial markings makes
him unsuitable for dog shows, but he is a very good fighter. Ornlu is much like his trainer: calm, quiet and intelligent, with some pretty good leadership skills. He is also Gordon's most experienced Pokémon, and can be quite a demon when he fights. His high tollerance to pain often unnerves his opponents. Ornlu rarely panics, not even in dire situations. This fearlessness can be both an asset and a handicap. Gordon doesn't know that the real reason his parents allowed him to have Ornlu, is because they realized it might be a good idea for their son to have a permanent guard dog around. Being the son of a high-profile businessman, there was always the risk of him being kidnapped and held ransom, especially considering the sometimes risky adventures he had. Unbeknownst to Gordon, Ornlu has received special combat training from a professional security team. This fact goes a long way in explaining the differences between Ornlu, and Gordon's second Pokémon, Chaser. Gordon and Ornlu have been together for several years now. |

Chaser is Gordon's second Pokémon. He is young, friendly and a bit ditzy. Chaser hasn't had much experience in
combat yet, so he doesn't really know how to judge an opponent's strength before a battle starts. This means that
Chaser will almost always enter a fight with all the youthful enthusiasm his little body can muster. However, if
he finds out his opponent is in fact more powerful than himself, he'll quickly lose his courage and attempt to flee
rather than fight. Gordon doesn't use Chaser much, unless he has to or if he thinks the battle will give Chaser some much needed experience. Chaser himself prefers tag team matches with the much stronger Ornlu as his partner. |
