January 24th, 2010 Photoshop and drawingtablet They have often tried to kill me. To stop me from claiming my birth right. They come with fire and ice. With light and with darkness. With tooth and claw. I've come close to claiming their souls before. Tantalizingly close, but so far they elude me. Yet every time they think they're rid of me... I will return, stronger than before... I will be victorious. It is only a matter of time... I think this will be my last contest entry for a while. I promised meroe1313 I'd enter her contest, so here's my entry. The contest's theme is "Light and Shadow", but I don't think it translated particularly well to my entry. Or rather, I don't think my entry portrays the theme as well as I thought it would. So I'm hoping to just score extra points with my epic battle of doom between good and evil instead! Now, I did take some artistic liberty with the designs of the characters. I'll probably be docked some points for it, but personally I like how it turned out. Although... The last time I added a personal twist to one of Meroe's characters, she rather liked it. So I suppose it could go either way. And in case you're wondering why this looks different from what I usually draw, it's because I experimented with different coloring and shading techniques again. I tried to avoid the super-saturated colors for this particular image. Fox tutorial used: Link.
