Title: New comic!
Author: Neko
Date: September 29th 2007

The new comic is up! It's not much to look at, but at least it's a page, right? From now on the pages will have more panels, though. For as long as I can keep it up anyay. ;) Hopefully this will help speed the story up a bit.
Yesterday I graduated. I now have my Master's degree in... *checks* 'The history of the Visual Arts until 1800'... It sounds more impressive than it really is, because I mainly focused on the Middle Ages and not on antiquity until 1800. That would have been craaaaazy.

I've spent some time on the SoL tutorial too. It's about half done now, so hopefully it'll be completely finished in one or two weeks. Depends on my homework...

Title: It's been a very unusual week

This week was just totally mental... There is no other way to describe it. I spent every day working on my bookreport and I even had to get up at 5 o'clock in the morning, on Wednesday, the day of my grandfather's funeral, just to be able to finish it in time. After the funeral, which actually went quite well... for a funeral, we went out. We (my family and me) went to this rather bizarre restaurant, which only served chicken and after that I collapsed on my bed and didn't get back up untill the next morning.
I spent the entire next day at school, because I had several classes, but to be honest... In my mind I was a million miles away. I also came down with a pretty severe cold. In fact, nearly my entire family did. I think the stress is finally showing its effects on our immune systems or something.
If I get up too fast the room gets all wibbly wobbly and staring at a screen for too long can give me some headackes. That can be a problem when you're trying to draw a comic on your pc... So yesterday, I did nothing at all. Quite refreshing, actually...
It's at times like these that I'm happy to have a buffer for the comic. I still have about five weeks worth of buffer comics, so that's how long I have to get well again. Although I might want to try to get well a little sooner, because I'll graduate next Friday. It would be nice if I could recieve my diploma without coughing all over the teachers...
Anyway, the new SoL is up and I've also added Nile's third move, Ice Beam, to the castpage. Enjoy!

Title: I've got some bad news...

First of all, I'd like to apologize for today's rather lame comic. I would like to say that it is what it is due to this week's events, but in reality I drew this thing over a month ago. So that's not really an excuse.

Unfortunately I failed to complete the second tutorial, the SoL tutorial, this week. The Pen and Ink tutorial took more time to complete, than I expected. Even though it was a tutorial I made two years ago, it still needed a lot of editing. Let's just say I had no idea I used to make so many typo's, and leave it at that. Ahem...

I might have been able to make half a tutorial if it hadn't been for uni. Basically I got an e-mail from one of my teachers last Tuesday. He said he was sorry to tell us this late, but we had to buy, read, summarize and write a report (in English, no less) about a book on early Christianity in Europe. This book has 625 pages and I have to hand in the report next Wednesday. Naturally, this unexpected assignment was... erm... well... rather unexpected... It messed up my schedule, so unfortunately there's no tutorial.

There probably won't be one for a while either, because this guy is going to keep me quite busy for the next few weeks. I already miss the vacation I barely had...
And then there's some other bad news. Last Thursday my grandfather, my mother's father, passed away in hospital. He would have been 87 years old today. He had heartproblems for over 20 years, so we knew he would go some day. But I guess it still needs to sink in a bit. It just feels strange that he's no longer there... But I do believe that he's in a better place now.

Next week will probably be rather hectic, due to the funeral. The comic will be fine. I still have a decent buffer for it, even though it got a little smaller this month. For now I can only offer this rather poor gag I drew for Just Gotta. It's also in the Webcomic Fanart gallery.

Title: The first tutorial is up!

Date: September 10th 2007

Ok, it's not Saturday, but I decided to write a newspost anyway. And before you ask, no, that does not mean there is a new comic. (Sorry)
I just wanted you to know that I've uploaded the first tutorial. It was an old tutorial on drawing with Pen and Ink. I realize that not everybody might be interested in it, but I thought I could mention it anyway.

The other tutorials might take a little longer to make, so please be patient. Oh, and I forgot to mention it last Saturday, but you guys noticed it anyway: the PSO gallery is now open. I decided to open it up, even though I didn't want to do it at first. That's because I would one day like to write a comic about PSO and I thought that having a PSO gallery might spoil things. The SoL gallery also contains spoilers.
I now realize that I probably won't have enough time to write another comic. Besides, I'd like to get a little bit better at drawing comics, before I start a PSO comic. The other closed gallery, the Amcornos gallery, is still closed. Amcornos will hopefully one day become a comic too. This gallery will remain closed, though.
I hope this explains everything.

Title: Phew, that sure was a lot of work!

I'm in a good mood! :)
Why?
Well, I managed to do a lot of work on the site. Take a look. I've renovated the galleries. There are now two new galleries: Sub's Corner (containing fakemon) and the Webcomic Fanart Gallery. That's where I put fanart I made for other webcomics. I've also added lots of content to all the galleries. Some of the pictures are new, while others are oldies. If you have some spare time, I suggest you check them out.
Oh, and before I forget, the DBZ gallery is now a gallery for ALL manga and anime art. That way, I won't have to make new galleries (for just one or two pictures) all the time.

I've also made a page for all fanart made by YOU. The fans. If you have any SoL or Uncia pictures, feel free to send them in. I really love fanart, so if you have any I'd sure like to see it. There's no pressure though. ;)

I've also added some links to my Linkspage, I've removed a lot of my ugly old banners from the Link to Blue Uncia page and replaced them with some pretty new ones AND I made a little page with some affiliation rules, should anyone else like to affiliate with me.
You may already have noticed the brandnew Tutorialpage is still empty. I'll work on it next week. I will hopefully be able to put one, and maybe two tutorials in there. The Pokémon Tutorials are currently on hold, but I will make them. So no worries!

I also 'fixed' the three skins that were causing problems in Firefox and Opera. Basically, I took the transparency code out and threw it away. Very far away. So Default skin 2 (black) and 3 (green) and the skin called 'Bazes' (red) should now appear normally on all browsers. I got rid of the background image on skin 3, because it was basically the source of all the problems and it was barely visible anyway. In stead, there is now a nice image on each newspost. I still haven't worked on the menu- and borderproblems, which Firefox-users seem to experience. That's also next on my to-do-list.

And last, but not least: I changed all the extensions on ALL the pages of this website, EXCEPT on the homepage. All the extensions have been changed from .html to .shtml. I basically did this, so I could make so called 'includes', which make the site much easier to maintain. For instance, I can now easily alter my menu's, without changing them on all my 190 pages. You may have noticed that the Chatbox and the affiliates are now shown on every single page. I was able to do that, because of the includes. It's cool, huh? But if you bookmarked anything except the homepage, you will have to rebookmark it. Your old bookmark is now dead. The same is also true for all you people who've linked to me from your own websites. Please change the links, or make sure you link to the homepage.
Since this change is still rather recent, I'm sure I made plenty of mistakes. If you can help me find them, I'd really appreciate it. Just click around and if you find a dead link, or if the page just looks wrong in some way, please let me know. Make sure you mention the url of the page too. ^_^
So, now go ahead and read the new SoL. I know that's why you're really here. ;)

Title: And that's the end of August
Author: Neko
Date: September 1st 2007

And just like that August is gone. Most of you probably have to go back to school or college soon. I still have about two weeks left, so I'll try to work on the site a bit. As you can clearly see, I failed to finish all the work before the end of August, but I'll try to get some changes done before college starts. I can't make any promises, though. And it does look like I'll have to do this renovation thing in stages. Oh well, that's life I guess.
