As Arkz put it, it's a classic 'VROOM... SPLAT!!' -scene. I feel really sorry for Nami, but the thing is... Her low level does make her really vulnerable to whatever Darmani can dish out at her. But what about that Golem, huh? He's something else!! He actually survived a dip in that river, and he's still able to fight! Wouldn't want to face off against him...
Anyway, since Nami did defeat Quilava, she and Nile (who isn't KO yet, btw) both gained a lot of experience. Nile leveled up from 11 to 14 and Nami went from level 8 to level 12.
